Abstract

This paper reflects on my summer 2026 internship experience at Second Wind Consultants, an Article 9 restructuring consulting firm. It covers how I found the opportunity through a friend's referral, what I expected going into the internship versus what I actually learned, and the professional and technical skills I developed, including client-facing communication, organization, and creating 13-week cash flow projections. The paper also discusses a specific challenge I worked through, what that experience taught me about being thorough, and how the internship shaped my interest in pursuing a career in consulting.
