Abstract

This summer, I worked as a cabin counselor on a youth mental health internship at the Berkshire Soccer Academy for girls in East Otis, Massachusetts. The experience gave me the space to aid youth mental health and foster a safe space for young girls to explore their identities with mentorship and encouragement. I learned important communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills to properly tend to youth mental health, manage social dynamics, and develop an optimistic environment for youth.
