Abstract

This past summer, I held the role of Environmental Education Intern at Earthplace, a nonprofit educational nature center in Westport, CT. At Earthplace, I had a variety of roles, including preparing and delivering nature programming for children and adults, designing and constructing new exhibits and signage, and shadowing under naturalists to gain experience in program delivery. I was also responsible for garden and grounds management, animal care, and trail maintenance. The overall experience was very rewarding, and I developed multiple skils, including problem solving, critical thinking, creativity, and communication.
