Abstract
During my internship with Democrats Abroad in Paris, I worked specifically with Vote From Abroad (VFA), a nonpartisan initiative that helps Americans living overseas participate in U.S. elections. My work focused on voter registration and outreach, including contacting American students and organizations in Paris, organizing registration events, and helping voters understand the requirements and procedures for voting from abroad. I also developed outreach strategies and maintained a database of potential partner organizations to expand VFA’s reach. Through this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of the challenges Americans abroad face when navigating different state voting requirements and learned how voter education and accessible resources can help increase participation in the democratic process.
