Abstract

This career reflection examines my experience completing a virtual medical assistant training program and how it contributed to my academic and professional development. The program provided instruction in anatomy, medical terminology, clinical procedures, patient communication, and administrative responsibilities. Through lessons, practice quizzes, and exams, I strengthened my knowledge and developed skills in communication, critical thinking, and organization. This experience also connected to my public health coursework by helping me apply concepts such as healthcare accessibility, preventative care, and patient-centered communication. Overall, this program prepared me to pursue medical assistant employment and continue developing clinical experience.
