Abstract

This past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to study abroad in Athens, Greece, through Cerca Abroad, where I spent time shadowing an orthopedic surgeon at Peristeri Medical Center.During my time there, I observed both orthopedic and non-orthopedic surgeries, listened in on patient consultations, and shadowed physicians and nurses in the orthopedic clinic. This experience let me see firsthand how medicine is practiced in another country. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity, as it broadened my perspective on healthcare, strengthened my interest in the medical field, and allowed me to learn from professionals in an international setting.
