Abstract

This summer, I participated in a MMUF research training program at the University of Chicago. In this program, I learned how to conduct research and investigate social theories. We also want on cultural immersion excursions around the city of Chicago to help further engage our research with social issues and add to our bandwidth of knowledge accumulation. In the words of the program director, "we did the research that helps us do Research." The program was rigorous and intensive, having to have accumulated a detailed annotated bibliography, research proposal and presentation and yet this built a stronger foundation for me as scholar. This program added to a great deal of my academic knowledge or knowledge pertaining to my field of study.
