Abstract

Bishop Kearney is a private catholic school that boards hockey players who aspire to play college hockey. They play under USA Hockey and have teams that compete at both the U16 and U19 level.

I took over the social media accounts for the program. The social media accounts are important for prospective student-athletes to get an inside look into the program. I took action photos during games, organized activities on trips such as meals, and made the program’s first website. I was also on the ice at every practice assisting with needs from the coaches and being a mentor to the girls. After my internship, I was offered a job as the U16 assistant coach and was wanted back but couldn’t accept because I came back to Conn. This internship led me to connecting with Conn alum Kristen Wright ‘07 and being the women’s hockey intern for USA Hockey this summer. This was an incredible opportunity and I made connections with many division 1 and division 3 college coaches which will be helpful for my future in hockey.
