Abstract

This abstract describes an internship experience that integrated academic interests in International Relations, Hispanic Studies, and law, offering practical insights into immigration law. The internship involved assisting with legal research for asylum cases, analyzing country conditions by examining crime rates, state corruption, and human rights violations through credible reports, and providing Spanish-English translation of legal documents. The paper highlights how the author’s liberal arts background prepared them to combine research, cultural understanding, and analytical skills in supporting legal work.
