Abstract

This paper reflects on my summer internship at The P.L.A.Y Project. My responsibilities included assisting with a feasibility paper by editing, formatting in APA style, preparing references and tables, and identifying potential journals for submission. In addition, I shadowed professionals such as a speech pathologist and an occupational therapist, which provided valuable insights into different career paths. The internship allowed me to strengthen key workplace skills, including communication, organization, and time management, while also expanding my professional network. Although the primarily virtual format limited my experience of day-to-day office work, it gave me meaningful opportunities to apply academic knowledge, develop professional confidence, and explore possible directions for my future career.
