Abstract

My reflection paper summaries my summer internship at Anchor of Hope. Anchor of Hope is a non-profit organization that goal resources for family struggling with pregnancy decisions and parenting. Throughout the journey of this internship, I faced a few challenges which influence a significant enhancement my communication, professionalism and leadership skills. My liberal art education was very effective in my role as an intern and enabled me to further achieve my learning object to better communicate with clients during psychological impairing events in their lives. A meaningful moment for me at Anchor of Hope was the opportunity to pray for two clients in their native language. I also learnt valuables lessons on the importance of setting boundaries, respect in the workplace and allowing others to assist me in situations. All in all, this internship has been very pivotal in my growth as an navigate my different on campus.
