Abstract
Conducted 10-weeks of research through the SULI Program at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory in the High-throughput Biochemistry lab. The research project was focused on elucidating the binding mechanisms of the APC protein in the Wnt pathway, which, when mutated, is heavily correlated with the development of colorectal cancer. Experimental techniques included co-crystallization and analytical gel filtration, along with other general biochemistry and crystallography techniques, including PAGE, crystallization optimization using automated and acoustic liquid handlers, and buffer filtration/degassing.
