Abstract
A reflection on my time as an Americorps Natural Resource intern with the U.S. Forest Service in Rifle, Colorado through Rocky Mountain Youth Corps. I completed chainsaw and horse packing training, worked long days independently and alongside conservation crews, and took on a leadership role coordinating trail projects. This experience solidified my interest in returning to the Forest Service, particularly in wildland fire.
