Abstract

During the summer of 2026, I completed a ten-week private equity internship with the Supply Chain and Strategic Opportunities team at Cerberus Capital Management in New York City. My responsibilities included financial modeling, valuation analysis, investment research, transaction underwriting, and commercial and operational due diligence across aerospace and defense, industrials, and energy. Building on my studies in Government and Economics and previous international economic policy research, the internship allowed me to examine the relationship between private investment, industrial development, and national security. This reflection examines how the internship shaped my professional development and career aspirations, and how Career Action Program funding supported my ability to pursue the opportunity.
