Abstract
En las expresiones escénicas contemporáneas, el uso de los materiales audiovisuales se ha consolidado como un lenguaje necesario, dando como resultado la aparición de creadores específicos que incorporan tecnología a la creación artística para generar su propio discurso visual y/o sonoro. En esta consolidación de la videoescena, rastreamos en esta investigación la figura del video jockey como un antecedente directo imprescindible en el sumatorio de tecnología y arte en la escena. Para comprender al creador de visuales, nos acercaremos a sus orígenes, su unión con el disk-jockey, el devenir posterior que los ha implementado en otras disciplinas, y finalmente un acercamiento a la configuración técnica que posibilita su creación artística.
In contemporary stage productions, the use of audiovisual materials has been entrenched as a necessary language, resulting in the emergence of specific artists who incorporate technology in artistic creation to generate their own visual or aural discourse. In this entrenchment of the videostage, we trace in this research the figure of the video-jockey as an essential direct antecedent in the sum of technology and art on the stage. To understand this creator of visuals, we will approach its origins, its union with the disk-jockey, the subsequent evolution that has implemented them in other disciplines, and finally an approach to the technical configuration that makes possible their artistic creation.
